New Cars & New Commissions

Hey, lots of you have been asking if the lucky owner of the green and black bag below liked her birthday present, well i can confirm it was a success. You can read her feedback in the 'Comments from Satisfied Customers' on the left hand side of this blog (second one down) :-)

I have just taken on some more commissions; from vintage style corsages (designed to attach to dress & shoes) for a fashionista attending a wedding, to another bespoke leather bag with personalised motifs. So watch this space, i will publish photos of them when i finish all the pieces.

I'm not sure when i will get time to start on my new Winter 09 collection, but it is slowly coming together... Phew! Also, wrote-off my car about 10 days ago and I'm just getting over the whiplash, so i have lost a week or so of 'sewing time', but at least it is only whiplash and nothing more serious! :-)

So, new cars and new commissions... This should keep me out of trouble for a while!

Commissions

Not wanting to spoilt the surprise; I can now reveil images of the commission i undertook last month. I understand that the lucky birthday girl has now received the bag. I just hope she loves it as much as me!
This beautiful black and green leather ruffle bag and matching purse is lined with green satin. It closes with a zip & magnetic snap. It also features a internal zip pocket and mobile phone pocket. Yum Yum... this was heart breaking to part with...

All Work and No Play ...

...Makes April a dull girl!

So here is a picture of me just about to head off to my friend's 1960's themed birthday party. I think researching original 60's hair styling techniques was a step too far! (Pin curls and setting lotion all the way). I'm not sure the 'look' was very flattering, but then i don't do things by halves.

As you can see it is all a bit frantic; but from the chaos beautiful accessories are made.

Prototype bag

This is a prototype i have been working on today for a new bag; please ignore the fact this is made in canvass!

It will eventually be made in leather or suede, and have my trademark ruffles running down the front flap. It will also have a hard base and metal feet, and close with a magnetic clasp. I am also toying with the idea of have an external zip pocket at the back of the bag, were you can keep small items like a travel card or mobile...

I would love to hear your comments on it; as it should be ready on the Little Red Boutique in a few weeks for you to buy.

New Delivery

I just received my new delivery of gorgeous and fabulous chocolate and black suede! Yum yum yum! It is soooo lovely, i can wait to get cutting and sewing. I have a great new bag design all ready to be made. It is a bucket shaped bag which closes with a ruffle encrusted strap at the front. Forget the bling on bags; it is all about the feminine ruffles and girliness!

All technical

Just been adding things to my blog, like a slide show of my new collection, more images along the side and now you can sign up to the Little Red newsletter too...
